A highlight of our trip to Belize

January 9, 2026

We have always wanted to see scarlet macaws in the wild. We booked our tour with Ruben and he picked us up early for the easy 1 hour drive to Red Bank from Placencia. Along the way Ruben shared his knowledge of the history of Belize, its diverse and friendly people, and the nature and birds. Once in Red Bank we went a short ways into the jungle where we saw at least 25 scarlet macaws! They are such beautiful birds and the tour is one we will always remember fondly. HIghly recommend Maya Adventure tour for this amazing tour.

Stunning Scarlet Macaws experience

December 6, 2025

Reuben and our birding guide, Bacilio (“Mayaman”), provided an unforgettable experience. We were able to see numerous Scarlet Macaws flying overhead and sitting in the treetops. We had excellent binoculars, but Basilio also provided a high quality scope to get a really good look at them. We even got good photos through his scope. We also got to see at least another 10 to 15 varieties of other birds. Basilio was amazing at identifying them by their calls alone, then was able to spot them and show them to us. They were so excited to show us the various birds. It was a very personal and fantastic experience. I highly recommend Maya Adventure Tour.
